20SL's daily essentials: wallet/mini purse, lotion, phone charger, comb, deodorant, lip gloss, lipstick/make-up, gum, ponytail holder, nail polish for possible touch-ups and a ring! (You never know when you'll need more accessories!) 

These essentials almost always come in handy when we least expect it! Believe it or not, but those who undermine these necessities usually ask for one or more from our mystery bag. Lol

Ummm..... Yes, please! We absolutely LOVE these gold Tom Ford gladiator sandal-heels! These beauties look best when paired with... almost EVERYTHING! From a graphic tank with cut-off shorts, to Bermuda shorts and a boyfriend blazer, to any basic down dress; whatever you do it, it'll be a HIT! What are your thoughts? Are these scrumptious Tom Ford's a hit or a miss?

Smile Design Art Gallery

     We had such an amazing time at the Smile Design Art Fair in Harlem, NYC! The artists truly embodied the personalities of a few celebrities while including their own personal style. Our favorite pieces are the Eryka Badu, Lupita N'Yongo, Michael Jackson (R.I.P.) and Andre 3000. Out of those 4 we would have to say the Lupita N'Yongo portrait is our ultimate favorite! Not only is she beautiful, and humbled but she wears her color well! She represents our Black people proudly. The artist, Andres, was able to portray those great qualities -in his- painting of her. 

    Aside from the wonderful art pieces , we also loved the awesome networking experience that we were able to have. We're so excited for where this opportunity has taken us, and we can't wait share that with you all soon. Stay tuned!! :)

Pink Daisies In The 80's!

 

How adorable are our 80's inspired pink-fits?! Serena (left) in a fabulous #Forever21 pink bodycon dress with a pair of black #SteveMadden tie-up booties. To tone it down a bit, she decided to add her faux fur, down vest and black floppy hat, both from H&M. How fantabulous?! Raquel, (right) is wearing a pink romper from #Macys and fierce Jeffrey Campbell platform wedged sandals. To add a little extra funk she added her thrifted faux fur and on top a chocolate brown fedora. #GroovyBaby!

All Black With A Cherry On Top!

 

Accessories, ladies! Accessories can definitely make any outfit! We paired this black #TopShop harem romper with fiery red sandal heels from #Zara. Yet, that didn't seem like enough! So, we pulled out our thrifted leather jacket and topped it off with a red #Forever21 clutch. Sounds simple doesn't it? Well, it is-- when you add layers! When in doubt layer it out! #20SomethingLayers of styling...that is.

Dark plum nails for the win! Essie's "Wicked" is our absolute favorite fall/winter go-to nail polish. This color compliments any skin complexion. From young to old, this color does anyone justice. For all of our brown girls who believe that this color is just too dark for them, think again, love! We can't depart! Give it a try! Thank us later!

It was once a dream! We remember it like it was yesterday, discussing ideas for the blog and possible titles that would best represent us and our personalities; while simultaneously representing YOU! (because, honestly, all that we do is for you!)

One day as we were shopping, we came up with the name 20SomethingLayers because it represents our struggles; our love lives; our do's and don'ts in fashion and makeup; our family; our experiences, etc. It started with a simple idea that most people didn't believe in at first and probably still don't. We had a lot of doubters and naysayers, but we didn't let that stop us. The discouragements were our negative motivations!

Here we are a few months down-the-line and the blog is taking off with full speed! We are more ecstatic than we've ever been before because we are living our dreams! Each day is a new journey and a new lesson, and we know that it's all that God had planned for us. So, if you have an idea or a dream, please follow your heart and give it all that you got. It will come to past. All that truly matters in the end is YOUR happiness. One love.
